Our interns are diverse, as part of STEMpathize's mission is to foster diversity. High school students of all grade levels and STEM interests come together as interns for our organization!

Kaavya, a senior at Los Altos High School, spends her time learning about biology, writing and editing for her school newspaper The Talon, debating, and writing curriculum for STEMpower. She loves genetics and molecular biology, especially anything to do with CRISPR.

Angel Situ is a freshman at Stuyvesant High School located in NYC, a school specializing in STEM. Obviously, her favorite subjects are always science and math! (Definitely like math more though). In her free time, she loves to draw traditionally, usually like paint mediums and charcoal. When she has time, she plays badminton and bakes for her close friends. A fun fact about her is that she was raised by her athletic mom, who taught her multiple sports. Thus, she can play a variety of sports, and is just a very energetic kid overall.

Stevens High School, where she demonstrates her passion for track, community service, and STEM through her various leadership roles in and outside the school. She is captain of the school track and cross country team, she plays a significant part in her school’s HOSA chapter, and has been volunteering as the board of directors for a nonprofit for three years now. She enjoys going to the gym, going on any tropical vacations, and crocheting in her free time. She loves experimenting with STEM and hopes to spread STEM education to younger students!

He enjoys participating in his school’s Technology Student Association Club and Environmental Club, and he also has a strong interest in medicine and healthcare. In school, she helped found her school’s First Aid Club with friends and now serves as the club’s secretary, helping organize meetings and promoting emergency preparedness. Dayah Sokolov, a junior at The Marine Academy of Science and Technology, is passionate about biomedical engineering, biotechnology, and scientific journalism.
