Blog Writer
Description
Blog Writers will write (mini) STEM articles to be published on the STEMpathize website. They may sometimes be assigned a specific topic to write about. However, most of the time, they may write about anything that interests them, as long as it aligns with the programs’ goals. They are expected to maintain regular communication with their team leader. The time commitment for this role will be about 1-2 hours a week.
Qualifications
Blog Writers should have previous experience in writing articles or stories. They should be creative in order to create content that engages the audience.
Curriculum Designer
Description
Curriculum Designers will assist in developing STEM-oriented activity sheets, youth stem courses and lab activities for virtual workshops. They are expected to maintain regular communication with the team leader. On average, this role will require a time commitment of about 1-2 hours a week. Note that the workload during some weeks will be significantly higher than other weeks.
Qualifications
Curriculum Designers should have an interest and extensive knowledge in a broad range of STEM subjects, which may be evident through past experience in summer camps, higher-level courses, internships, strong grades, etc. In addition, they should be creative thinkers who can bring new and interesting ideas to curriculum development.
Content Creator
Description
Content Creators will help film and edit STEMpathize videos. They will be one of the “faces” of this organization, and will work with the Videos Director to work on filming and editing. They will be expected to maintain transparent and consistent communication with other creators and the video director. This role requires, on average, 1-2 hours a week.
Qualifications
Content Creators should have some previous experience editing/producing videos. If you don't have any experience, that's okay, too. Content creators should be energetic, exciting, and have a positive attitude to engage students.
Outreach Team Member
Description
Outreach Team Members will manage emails to expand the program and increase STEMpathize’s consumer base. They will be handling corporate and promotional partnerships. They are expected to maintain regular communication with their team leader. The time commitment for this role will be about 1-2 hours a week.
Qualifications
Outreach Team Members should have previous experience with handling emails and reaching out to other organizations or programs. In this role, you will be expected to write and format professional emails.
Social Media Manager
Description
Social Media Managers will actively manage our social media accounts (Instagram, Nextdoor, etc.) and create posts to publicize our program and educational resources. They will also publicize our Youtube channel and connect with other social media accounts to promote STEMpathize. They are expected to maintain regular communication with their team leader. This role will require a time commitment of about 1-2 hours each week.
Qualifications
Social Media Managers should have some experience with social media. Experience with running a non-personal account is useful, but not necessary. Social Media Managers should be able to design graphics, through Canva or other apps. They should be creative and innovative in order to produce engaging content for social media platforms including, but not limited to, Instagram and Youtube.
Website Designer
Description
Website Designers are responsible for updating our website and publishing workshop content on a routine, weekly basis. In addition, you will constantly be improving our website’s graphic design. You will also be analyzing user reports and discussing them with the director to improve the website. You are expected to maintain regular communication with their team leader. The time commitment for this role is about 1-2 hours per week.
Qualifications
Website Designers should have previous experience in graphic design or art. Experience with Wix.com is helpful, but not necessary. Website Designers should be able to analyze user reports and synthesize data to report back to the STEMpathize team. They need to be reliable and consistent in order to keep the website up to date.
Workshop Facilitator
Description
Workshop Facilitators will lead online workshops. They will follow the curriculum/lesson plan and interact with the students. They are expected to maintain regular communication with their team leader. The time commitment for this role will be about 2-3 hours a week. They must be available to teach on Saturdays from 10:40 AM PST to 12:00 PM PST.
Qualifications
Workshop Facilitators should have previous experience in working with children or teaching children. Some examples of previous experiences are being tutors, camp volunteers, babysitters, etc. They should be good role models and social in order to establish a safe and fun environment to keep the students engaged.
STEM Kit Intern
Description
STEM Kit interns are responsible with creating and distributing STEM Kits for students in their local community. Students throughout the whole world are encouraged to apply. They will be expected to maintain transparent communication with other STEM Kit Interns and the STEM Kit Director. The time commitment for this role is about 1-2 hours per week.
Qualifications
STEM Kit interns should be able to purchase materials for the kits (money will be reimbursed) and distribute them locally. Since STEM Kit interns will be operating throughout the whole world, interns should have experience with organizing or packaging, dedication, and consistent communication.
